Val’s art is deeply rooted in the places that shaped her. Born and raised in Fort Stockton and surrounded by the rugged beauty of Sanderson and the Big Bend country, West Texas has always been more than home—it’s a constant source of inspiration. Those landscapes, memories and familiar scenes continue to find their way into her work today.
Bright color and bold lines are at the heart of Val’s signature style. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, she isn’t afraid to bring unexpected colors, texture and personality into each piece. Her work is vibrant, expressive and meant to bring a little more color—and a lot more character—to the spaces it calls home.
Ranch life, West Texas wildlife and the everyday beauty of the region are recurring themes throughout Val’s work. From cattle and native animals to landscapes and recognizable West Texas scenes, she paints the subjects that have surrounded her throughout her life—capturing them through her own colorful and creative perspective.
